Donna DeLeon
Elementary Associate
Donna DeLeon was born in Santa Monica, California, and raised in a Southern Baptist home, where the foundation of her faith and values was laid. From a young age, she felt the call to serve the Lord and was inspired by her family’s dedication to ministry. In 1998, God’s calling led her family to Guatemala, where they began their mission to serve the local community and church.
Donna’s heart has always been focused on children, and she prayed fervently for an opportunity to serve the little ones in the church and community. Over the course of nearly two decades, Donna and her family faithfully served both in the United States and Guatemala, nurturing the faith of countless children and families.
In 2013, Donna graduated from Texas Women’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, a significant milestone in her life. She then went on to apply her education by teaching and tutoring science at both Irving ISD and Colegio Boston Bilingue in Antigua, Guatemala. Her work as a teacher further deepened her passion for nurturing young minds and hearts.
In 2021, Donna felt called back to Texas to begin a new chapter in her life, this time without the immediate presence of her family. She transitioned into a career as a lab scientist, finding fulfillment in her new role while still seeking ways to serve God and the community. During this time, she also met her wonderful husband, Marty. Their relationship grew over three years, and on February 17, 2024, Donna and Marty were joyfully married, beginning a new chapter together.
Outside of her professional work, Donna is a passionate stationery and pen enthusiast, finding joy in coloring, journaling, and organizing her thoughts and prayers. She’s also an avid gamer, sharing fun moments with her husband, friends, and family, especially through games like Fortnite. Despite her adult responsibilities, Donna remains a kid at heart, with a deep love for sharing the love of Jesus with children.
As a dedicated member of Children’s Ministry, Donna sees her role as an answer to years of prayer. Her heart’s desire is to share the gospel with children all over the world. Through her work in ministry and her life’s journey, Donna feels incredibly blessed to be part of God’s perfect plan for her. She continues to serve her community with gratitude, faith, and an unwavering commitment to God’s calling.
