Chao was born and grew up in Kenya, and come to saving faith when she was 17 years old.  Her growing up was marked with the feeling that she needed to perform to be accepted.  It wasn’t until she started opening the Word regularly that she started the journey of knowing and believing she is accepted, not because of her performance, but because of Christ’s finished work at the cross. Now she knows, and her life is completely different!

Chao met her husband, James, in 1996 and was married in 1998. They have two sons, Morris and Francis.  They keep saying they want to be like their sons when they grow up!  Their sons continue to teach them what it means to value human dignity, and diversity in people, and to help each person flourish in their lives. What a treat to raise such incredible Kingdom builders!

Chao loves being James’s wife, she loves being a mom to their two sons, she loves diversity, and she is passionate about teaching others to love the Word of God with their minds, as well as their hearts. Praying in crazy faith, and always looking out to see how God will answer prayers are Chao’s core standings. Chao knows what it means to be encouraged by others; she looks for ways to pass it forward. If you are up to sharing a MORNING cup of coffee alongside your story, Chao is the to-go-to person.
