As we continue our multi-year journey through the Gospels, this 9-part sermon series will take us verse-by-verse through Matthew 16:21–20:34, where Jesus begins His unwavering journey to the cross. From the moment He reveals that He must suffer, die, and rise again, those closest to Him begin to miss what matters most. Peter rebukes Him. The disciples argue about who’s the greatest. Three times, Jesus predicts His death—and three times, they misunderstand or ignore it. Even as He heals the physically blind, His followers remain spiritually blind to His mission.

They are walking with Jesus, yet their eyes are fixed on the wrong kind of kingdom. Don’t Miss It.

In these chapters, Jesus turns the world’s values upside down: the last will be first, greatness comes through servanthood, and eternal life is found in surrender. He welcomes children, tells parables that expose our hearts, and invites us to follow Him in the way of the cross. Through every interaction and teaching, we’ll see that it’s possible to walk with Jesus and still miss Him.

This series is both a warning and an invitation: Don’t miss who Jesus is. Don’t miss why He came. Don’t miss the kind of Kingdom He’s building.

As we open our eyes to His path and His purpose, we’ll discover that real life—true greatness—is found in the way of humble obedience. Join us as we walk with Jesus.

Come ready to see what they couldn’t—and to follow the King with eyes wide open.
