SERVE THE CITY

Serve Our Community

Sunday, August 2nd

One way we exhale the gospel is by taking a regular Sunday morning and worshipping God through loving service to our city. In 2025, we will take 4 Sundays to intentionally serve and bless our community!

On Sunday, August 2nd, our church will mobilize community groups to part ner with Mission Arlington, a local ministry partner, to serve their apartment churches!

Are you ready to be sent out to serve?! We want to help equip you and your group to serve and connect with people you encounter! Let's be the hands and feet of Jesus and take the gospel into our community!

Frequently Asked Questions

Check out these frequently asked questions to help you and your group get ready.

Mission Arlington is a local ministry that serves families throughout our community by sharing the love of Christ through apartment churches, Bible studies, after-school programs, food assistance, and more.

Each Community Group will be paired with a Mission Arlington apartment church. Specific activities may vary by location and need, but groups can expect to assist with church services, children's ministry, outreach efforts, setup and cleanup, relationship building, or other practical needs identified by Mission Arlington leaders.

Yes! We encourage families and children to participate in Serve the City alongside their Community Group. One of the primary ways groups will serve is through prayer walking the apartment community and praying for residents, ministry leaders, and ongoing gospel impact. Children can be a meaningful part of this experience by praying with their families, encouraging others, and learning what it looks like to care for their neighbors. A Prayer Walking Guide is available on this page to help your group prepare and engage intentionally.

We plan to serve rain or shine! If weather impacts your project's activities, your Community Group Leader and Site Coordinator will be there to help communicate any changes and next steps. Unless you hear otherwise, plan to arrive and serve as scheduled

Site Coordinators oversee the logistical side of the project. They communicate with Mission Arlington before the event, coordinate project details, welcome volunteers upon arrival, manage supplies and logistics, and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the morning.

Site Shepherds oversee the spiritual side of the experience. They help lead volunteers into worship, prayer, and a servant-minded posture by facilitating a brief rally before serving begins and encouraging volunteers throughout the morning.

Simply put: Site Coordinators focus on logistics, while Site Shepherds focus on shepherding people. Together, they help create a meaningful and well-organized Serve the City experience.
