The Last Supper
Reflection
The disciples were familiar with the elements of the meal, but the notion that the wine and bread be taken as a symbol of Jesus’ blood and body was new to them (Matthew 26:26-29).
Jesus got up from the table and took on the task of a servant, washing the disciples’ feet (John 13:12-15). He did this to model service and sacrifice. Imagine yourself at this table with Jesus.
