Job Description
This position will lead one of our bilingual campuses. You will be responsible for providing pastoral care to the congregation and assisting in the cultivation of vision and identity for your respective campus and in the community.
Expectations
• Teaching and Care: Prepare and preach the current sermon series, weekly, and teach as needed with care for various ministries, outside of campus-specific. Attend weekly flow meetings in preparation for service programming. Plan and execute strategies that provide welcoming environments for attendees and assimilate new members into the life and vision of Fielder. He must oversee the pastoral care needs of the congregation in collaboration with our Care Pastor and, as necessary, share with other ordained and lay ministers in hospital visitation, home visits, counseling, marriages and funerals
• Leadership and Planning: The Campus Pastor is responsible for coordination in the execution of the church’s purpose. He will participate in the ownership and collaboration of Fielder’s Vision Goals. He will also contribute as a key leader among staff by: 1) Coordinating/leading recurring staff meetings and other activities to clarify and execute campus specific initiatives, 3) Monitoring the spiritual pulse of the congregation through review and accountability, 4) Ensuring staffing, facilities and programs are effectively aligned with the overall vision of Fielder.
• Supervision and Discipleship: The Campus Pastor serves as a director to ordained and lay staff and lay volunteers. He will lead, evaluate, and mentor existing staff in their respective areas of ministry and ensure they are equipped to carrying out Fielder’s Vision. He will accomplish this through regularly organized meetings and effective management, in collaboration with Core Team leadership. The campus pastor will also empower direct reports to recruit, equip, and coordinate volunteers to help produce high quality, gospel-centered worship services and coordinate with other campus ministry teams to provide ministries for all ages of families.
• Administration: The Campus Pastor oversees and executes the administration of the church through appropriate staff and lay leadership teams, and ensures the completion of ministry, business, facility, and logistical support functions through staff and lay volunteers. He will ensure all expenses, reporting, and payroll are completed in accordance with the timelines established by Operations.
Qualifications
• Formal Education: Work requires specialized knowledge in a general professional field, with the emphasis on Biblical knowledge, normally acquired through four years of college. Position requires level of Biblical training equivalent to that which is acquired in a Master degree-level of study or appropriate certification.
• Experience: More than four years of experience in ministry, or a related field.
• Interpersonal / Collaboration Skills: Decisions regarding policy development and implementation are made and/or recommended. Interaction with congregants and others outside the organization requires exercising good management skills that support team efforts and quality processes.
• Freedom to Act: Decisions regarding implementation of policies may need to be made. Contact may involve support of controversial positions or the negotiation of sensitive issues or important presentations. Contacts may involve stressful, negative interactions with the public requiring high levels of tact and the ability to respond to aggressive interpersonal interactions.
• Technical Skills: Skills and knowledge in approaches and systems, which affect the design and implementation of major processes, organization wide, including OneChurch, Teams, and other frequently used major programs. Independent judgment and decision-making abilities are necessary to apply technical skills effectively.
• Budget Responsibility: Position has limited fiscal responsibility, including financial decisions within the division. Decisions may influence budget requests and divisional goals and objectives. Assists with budget planning; and adjusts work activity as necessary.
• Reading: Advanced - Ability to read literature, including various translations of the Holy Bible, books, reviews, legal documents. Ordinarily, such education is obtained at the college or seminary level. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
• Spiritual Emphasis: Must have call to vocational ministry affirmed by biblical community. Must also affirm our statement of faith, and accept the “Fielder 5” Vision and be able to communicate through action to others.
Estimated Commitment: 40-45 hours per week
