The granddaddy of many modern leadership and management books.  So many sayings “Seek first to Understand, Begin with the end in mind, Shapen the saw”.

2. Start with Why – Simon Sinek

If you don’t read the book, be sure to watch the Ted Talk. Great leaders always communicate The Why first, then the How and finally the What.

3. Radical Candor by Kim Scott

Great practical book for first time managers. Adopts the biblical practice of balancing Truth and Grace – “How to Care Personally while Challenging Directly”.  Learn about the difference between Rock-Stars and Super-Stars.

4. Drive by Dan Pink

I love books about thinking – glimpse into how God formed us a thinkers. Love all the books by Pink, Thaler, Kahenman, and the Heath brothers.

5. The Lean Startup by Eric Ries

A groundbreaking book in the world of software entrepreneurship. How to create a minimal viable product, test and learn, then persevere or pivot.   Great book to bring experimentation into your environment.

6. Halftime by Bob Bufford

Taught me how to change my focus from workplace success to Kingdom significance. Recommend to me by Rick Weintraub when I turned 40.

7. Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer

In a day in age when life is speeding up and we are drowning in media, this book provides a guide on how to step by and focus on what really matters. Funny and practical!

8. Metachurch by Dave Adamson

Is a digital church biblical? The why and the how of becoming Hybrid church where we love the local body and reach the people in a digital world.

9. Celebration of Disciplines by Richard Foster

When I joined a Leadership D-Group, this book may have had the most lasting impact. I so love the practices of solitude, silence, prayer and fasting.  Great discipleship foundation.

10. The Eight Great Paradoxes of Great Leadership by Tim Elmore

Great at talking about real-world leadership challenges in a biblical context.

Bonus:  The Martian by Andy Weir

Who doesn’t love some science fiction and problem solving! I am fascinated by space.  Big fan of Space X and Tesla.  😊

1. The Last Supper on the Moon by Levi Lusko

This book is nuts! Lusko is trying to draw comparisons to the 60’s moon space program and the ministry of Jesus.  We’ll see if he can pull it off 😊

2. Holy Fire by RT Kendall

Just finished this transformative book. When the Word and the Spirit are fully brought together, expect great power and revival!
