Assis was born in Angola-Africa in a city called Luanda, but at an early age God sent him to one of the best cities in the world called Seville-Spain, where he grew up. His love for computers started at an early age when he learned to how to break and then fix things.  His brothers told him that he was very tall and could do more than fix computers. At the age of 14, they sent Assis to Portugal to play basketball in Benfica of Lisbon. A year later God led him to a different location.  God gave Assis the skills to play basketball so that he could travel all over the world. He never knew the reason behind it until today.  Assis moved to Arlington Texas in 2001,and then attended school in Provo-Utah (BYU).

He met his beautiful wife, April Young-Silva, in Bedford-Texas while watching an NFL Sunday game. It was his Chicago Bears vs. her Dallas Cowboys. They have a little boy they call Panda. They love the Dallas Mavericks and getting together with other couples in their community. Making memories with family and friends are his priority and part of his mission…

In 2014, God opened the doors of Fielder Church to the Silva’s and it was at a moment that he very much needed prayers and our Father’s support. Since then, Fielder has become their home.  In 2020, Assis joined the Fielder staff in the IT department and found his calling as a prison ministry mentor within a program called Bridges to Life. He loves spending time inside the prison and sharing experiences and His word with his brothers there. His other passion is mentoring kids at the elementary school with Kids Hope US. His vision is to be sent to Angola to provide ministry in their prisons. God has been so good to him.
